Reiki is a Japanese healing and stress reduction technique that has always existed, but was discovered and brought into practice by Doctor Mikao Usui in the early part of the 20th century. In recent years the technique has been taught, refined, and expanded into growing worldwide acceptance as an effective healing modality.
There are many hands-on alternative healing modalities, but a few things that separate Reiki from the others are 1) it can be administered at a distance if the client isn't available in person and 2) it can be self-administered by anyone trained at any level of Reiki. 3)It is easy to learn, and needs no bells and whistles to work. 4) It can do no harm
